Did the deceased have a favourite place nearby that they liked to visit?

Consider a favourite place the deceased liked to go, like their favourite park, or a favourite restaurant, or maybe they were happiest at home.

Ask your funeral director if the hearse can pass by this favourite place on the way to the service, as most funeral directors will agree to stop the hearse for a few moments at the favourite place.  It can be a comforting gesture, to leave a flower there as a symbol of remembrance.

If you always drove the deceased everywhere, ask the funeral director if you can ride in the hearse on the way to the service.

It is a very personal way of accompanying them to their final resting place.
